About Us

Veto Consulting Services was created to solve a common problem for mission-driven organizations: committed teams have innovative visions, yet the changes never seem to happen when it’s time for implementation. It’s frustrating and demoralizing, not to mention a waste of time, effort, and limited funding. And most importantly, stakeholders — like families, elders, patients, students, and others — don’t reap the amazing benefits that would result from transformational ideas.

We support teams to bridge the gap between the future that change agents seek and the practical steps required to make those changes last.

 About Liza Veto

For more than 25 years, Liza Veto has spent her career striving to make the world a better place. While working inside and with human service organizations — like schools and districts, public health agencies, and other mission-driven teams — Liza always asked: How can we convert our compelling visions into actual impact for the people we serve?

Liza has experienced first hand the immense rewards and considerable challenges of social change implementation, often in highly visible and politically sensitive situations. Liza navigated complex initiatives in federal, state, and local roles, where she articulated problems, developed roadmaps to solve those problems, and — most importantly — executed the day-to-day strategies that ensure problems really get solved.

When she’s not working, you can usually find Liza exploring unfamiliar destinations, gathering friends and family, learning a new craft, or listening to a great book.

  • Collaborating across organizations on shared interests, inviting a wide range of partners to engage in change efforts.

  • Facilitating goal-setting and plan development, including timelines, targets, and other impact strategies.

  • Designing inclusive professional development programs to grow knowledge and skills.

  • Managing execution of multi-step processes, negotiating conflict among diverse contributors.

  • Building new systems and procedures to foster coherence and remove implementation barriers, particularly in high-stress situations.

  • Using data to monitor progress, identify blind spots, and establish action steps to get stalled initiatives back on track.

  • Coaching teams through plan execution by serving as a sounding board and offering accountability partnership.

  • Activating resources to cut through bureaucracy and solve problems.

 Every organization is unique.
